Editorial standards

How Explore Namibia is maintained

Explore Namibia separates current-first guidance from preserved historical material. The site is built as an independent travel reference, not a booking engine, and every current guide carries a visible review date and source panel.

Current guideEditorial and authority-link review: 22 July 2026. Rules, conditions and availability can change; confirm dynamic details with the linked source.

Current guides and historical pages

Current guides are rewritten around stable orientation and links to responsible authorities. Historical archive pages retain useful geography, natural history and context, but they are visibly labelled and must not be used for current prices, schedules, access rules, health advice or legal requirements.

Obsolete shops, forms, payments and service pages are retired rather than imitated. Search and indexing follow the same content-status distinction.

Source and freshness policy

Road, immigration, park, permit, health and aviation matters point to the responsible authority. Reachability of a source is not treated as proof that its content has been reviewed; editorial and technical checks are recorded separately.

Operational claims receive shorter review intervals than stable geography, geology or history. The build fails closed when required governance metadata or partner approvals are missing.

Photography and attribution

Modern editorial photography is self-hosted only after the original file page, creator, explicit reusable licence, dimensions and local hash are recorded. Every derivative remains connected to the original attribution record.

Inherited archive-image inventories document provenance and file identity but are not presented as proof of copyright permission. Unverified archive photographs are not promoted as modern editorial imagery.

Independent-reference model

Explore Namibia currently publishes no booking, payment, availability or fulfilment service. Destination coverage is selected for visitor usefulness rather than commission.

A future verified-partner listing may appear only after identity, operating responsibility, evidence, expiry, editorial review and commercial approval are recorded. Paid relationships must be disclosed and can never purchase editorial conclusions.

Corrections and limitations

Conditions change, and no static guide can replace authorities, signs, contracts or local instructions. Readers should verify safety-critical and time-sensitive information close to travel.

Potential factual corrections can be raised through info.na. A correction request is reviewed against sources before public copy changes.

Questions to consider

Does a visible review date guarantee nothing has changed?

No. It records the editorial review point. Dynamic conditions must still be checked with the linked responsible source.

Are historical archive pages current travel advice?

No. They are preserved and labelled for context; current decisions belong to current guides and authoritative sources.

Does Explore Namibia sell trips?

No. Bookings, payments, availability and fulfilment are disabled in the current independent-reference mode.
