The White Lady Of Brandberg Bushman Rock Painting - part 3
About 2,000 years old and once the most controversial Bushmen Painting in Africa
For about 2,000 years the central character of this Busman painting took safe shelter under a rocky overhang in the Brandberg's Tsisab Gorge. During the first half of the twentieth century, there were several over-enthusiastic, and ignorant photographers, who would spray water, and other liquids onto the painting in an attempt to enhance the natural colours of the figure, thus affording them a 'better' photograph. During the sixties an iron protective cage was erected in front of the mural. The 'White Lady of Brandberg' can now be viewed with the accompaniment of a trained Daures Guide.
