Terrace Bay - for those serious about fishing
Terrace Bay is really, just for the angling crowd. If you're not into fishing - this is not the place for you. The desert surroundings are not attractive. The beach is boulders and not sand. In winter it's damp and often wet, and it's a long drive up the coast, OK. BUT - if you want to go fishing this is one place where it's quite remote and your chances of catching plenty of fish are amongst the best on the Namibian Coastline.
Enough said. Pack up your fishing gear, don't forget to buy your fishing permit. They're a bargain at N$0.50 cents per day or - only N$28.00 per month. Please read the Fishing Act as to how many of what sort of fish you can catch and as to how you may transport them home, and in what form. Filleting is not allowed, so read on. All that said - we wish you an enjoyable trip and hope you catch lots of fish.
Terrace Bay lies within a National Park area, so there are entrance fees payable to the Ministry of Environment and Tourism. The accommodation and facilities at Terrace Bay are managed and operated by Namibia Wildlife Resorts
Getting There: By Road - Self Drive:
From Kamanjab:The C40 for 114 km. T-junction with C43. Turn south for3 9 km. T-junction with C39. Turn west to T-junction with C34. Turn north for 51 km.
From Khorixas: The C39 west tyo the Springbokwater Gate. Onwards to T-Junction with C34. Then turn north for 51 km
