Northern Namibia
Northern Namibia combines major wildlife country with geological landmarks, living cultural landscapes and a network of towns that support long overland routes. Etosha is the best-known anchor, but the region becomes richer when the journey includes context beyond the park gates.
Wildlife anchors
Etosha's waterholes and open pan landscapes shape many itineraries. Waterberg offers a contrasting plateau setting and a different historical and ecological story.
Rock, art and deep time
Twyfelfontein, the Petrified Forest and nearby geological landmarks can form a coherent Damaraland cluster when approached with realistic distances and respect for protected sites.
Gateway towns
Outjo, Otjiwarongo, Tsumeb, Grootfontein and Khorixas each serve different route functions. Use towns as supply and context stops, not just dots between attractions.
